A Slower Way of Living

My name is Natascha, and from the north of Sweden I am building a life centered around nature, creativity, and a slower pace. After years in the Netherlands, where life felt fast and full, my husband and I chose a new beginning in Lapland. Here, we found space, silence, and the time to work with our hands again. Surrounded by forests, snow, and the northern lights, my work takes shape. I create handmade pieces, illustrations, and imagery inspired by this way of living. Simplicity, calm, and attention to detail are at the heart of everything I make. But Loka Nova Crafts is more than just handmade work. I am building a place where you can pause for a moment. A place where you come in for a cup of coffee or tea, taste something homemade, and be surrounded by creativity and craftsmanship. A warm, quiet space with a table, homemade treats, and room for stories and inspiration. My mission is simple: to keep craft, art, and culture alive. Inspired by nature and local traditions, including Sami culture, I work with respect for materials and surroundings. Loka Nova Crafts is more than a shop. It is a place where you can simply be. Here I give you some tips.

Start and end your day without your phone
Returning to stillness
Give yourself a gentle start to the day.
No notifications, no rush, no world rushing in all at once.
Just silence, slowly changing light, and a moment for yourself.
End your day the same way.
Put your phone away, let go of the noise, and return to stillness.
This creates space — to breathe, to feel, and to truly be present.
Spend time outside, every day
A slower rhythm of nature
Step outside, no matter the weather.
Feel the air, the light, the changing seasons around you.
Nature has a quiet way of grounding you, without asking anything in return.
It doesn’t have to be big or far away.
A short walk, a moment in the garden, standing still and listening.
Outside, you reconnect — with the world, and with yourself.

Slow down your routines
Finding calm in the everyday
Let your daily routines unfold a little slower.
Not everything has to be rushed or efficient.
There is beauty in taking your time, even in the simplest moments.
Make your coffee without hurry, prepare your meals with care.
Turn ordinary habits into small rituals.
When you slow down, the day feels softer — and more your own.
Make something with your hands
The quiet joy of creating
Create something with your hands, simply for the joy of it.
Not to be perfect, not to be fast — but to be present in the process.
Each stitch, each movement, a moment of calm and attention.
Working with your hands brings you back to yourself.
It slows your thoughts and softens the day.
In creating, you don’t just make something — you find something too.

Protect your quiet moments
A space just for you
Protect the moments of silence in your day.
They are easy to lose, yet so essential to keep.
In the quiet, you can breathe, think, and simply be.
Not every moment needs to be filled.
Let there be space without noise, without distraction.
In that stillness, you find calm — and a deeper connection to yourself.
Choose quality over quantity
Less, but better
Choose with care what you bring into your life.
Not more things, but better ones — made to last, made with intention.
What you surround yourself with shapes how you feel.
Slow living is not about having less for the sake of it.
It is about choosing what truly matters.
Fewer, meaningful pieces — and space to appreciate them.
